Tawo Tawo Festival 2022

The Tawo Tawo Festival 2022 of Bayawan City was held on February 28, 2022. Despite the pandemic, the vigilant people of Bayawan managed to celebrate their annual festivities to keep the culture alive. Seven groups participated in this year’s Tawo Tawo Festival Street Dancing Parade and Showdown. However, since 2018 the festival was made as a performance instead of a competition. After all, we are all winners!

Tawo Tawo Festival – Comeback!

The parade started past three o’clock in the afternoon. People gathered around the city park to witness the bright colors and heavy beating of drums. It was a little disappointing though, since the groups performed once (in front of the park), then walked through the city instead of actually “street dancing”.

Nevertheless, it was better than no festival at all. The dancers were not shy to smile and was probably happy to not wear a face mask and feel “normal” again, even for just a few hours.
