Carabao de Colores Festival – Street Dancing & Showdown

The street dancing and showdown competition of the first ever Carabao de Colores 2018 in Vallehermoso took place around the town streets and beside the multi-purpose covered gymnasium. For this year’s theme, the colors of the rainbow were chosen. With seven participating groups; there were the red group, orange group, yellow group, green group, blue group, indigo group and the violet group.

Aside from the great performance of the dancers, the painted carabaos were also the great catch of the whole event. Painted and designed by the local artist of Vallehermoso, the carabaos can even be considered as the major attraction of the whole festival.

Miss Carabao de Colores Festival Queen 2018

Aside from the actual festival the next portion of the competition was also a great event…the Miss Carabao de Colores Festival Queen 2018. Seven lovely and young candidates each represented a school of Vallehermoso and the different colors of the rainbow. Unlike other beauty pageants, the Miss Carabao de Colores Festival Queen did not have any change of attire like bikini or production attire not even evening gown. But this made the whole pageant night a unique one!

The costumes worn by the candidates were originally made by the local designers of Vallehermoso. Each of them was designed carefully to showcase he curves of the candidates, grace and passion. There were still four categories of the whole program; production number, solo dance, group dance (with their festival group), and the question and answer.

No significance. They just wanted to make a colorful statement and use carabao as the main attraction to make a different, yet eye-catching festival. This was a one-time festival that Vallehermoso tried to celebrate.
