The journey from Dumaguete City to Bayawan City started early in the morning. Upon arriving in the city, we walked a few meters from the bus terminal to the accommodation generously given by the Bayawan City Mayor Pryde Herny Teves and the Tourism Officers of Bayawan City. Before heading to the venue of the Tawo Tawo Festival 2018 Street Dancing Parade and Showdown, we headed to grab some lunch provided again by the city mayor.

The Tawo Tawo Festival 2018 is a celebration that revolves around the main icon that made Bayawan City known all over Negros Oriental. The term tawo tawo means scarecrow. Every year the people of Bayawan City, celebrates their rituals over the invention of scarecrows. Being a provincial area and at the same time a city, Bayawan rose to be one of the best producers of crops such as rice and sugar cane.
