Pakol Festival 2019 - Showdown

The municipality of Santa Catalina is located about 100 km from the capital of Negros Oriental, Dumaguete City. As early as seven o’clock in the morning the DC-Team travelled going south of the province to attend the Pakol Festival 2019 Street Dancing and Showdown held on April 24, 2019. Did you miss it? Colors of red, yellow, orange, green, blue and brown filled the open grounds of the Santa Catalina plaza. The program went to a smooth run since not a lot of speeches from the running candidates for the 2019 Election were made. With the organization of the Tourism Office of Santa Catalina, the program was also finished on time and before it was dark.

Pakol Festival 2019 – Street Dancing

The Pakol Festival 2019 Street Dancing Parade started around two o’clock in the afternoon. Thanks to the weather gods, it was sunny and hot. There were eight performing groups for this year’s Pakol Festival 2019. The groups are composed of two categories, barangay groups, and school groups.

Pakol Festival 2019 – Showdown

Right after the street dancing parade, the groups rested for a bit as the opening program for the Pakol Festival 2019 Showdown was made. The respective prayer, singing of National Anthem, and singing of the Santa Catalina Hymn was made. Right after that, the reading of criteria was made…then it was the showdown!
