Miss Budyas 2017

One of the highlights of the Budyas Festival in Amlan is the coronation of the Miss Budyas in the Amlan Plaza. It has been quite a while since this festival slumbered in municipality of Amlan. This year, the return of the festival came and slowly made its way to the hearts of locals and guests during the Amlan Fiesta 2017.

‘Budyas’ is a term called to the rituals made by tribal fishermen to the waters of Amlan and the Tanon Street fronting the island of Cebu. In relevance with the celebration of marine abundance, the seven candidates of the Miss Budyas 2017 were first introduced in some stunning festival costumes all representing the aquatic abundance. There was no talent portion, however, each candidate was given time to showcase some festivity dance with their festival costumes.

Following the production number, it was time for one of the anticipated part of the show (for most men at least), the bikini round! All candidates steamed with their curvy figures as they wore their respective bikinis. Each had a different type of bikini to emphasize even more their curvy bodies. The audience cheered as they feast their eyes of the figures of each candidate.

After the bikini round, it was time to be elegant and graceful. The evening gown surely brought out the woman in each candidate as they walk in their blue gowns. To be a Miss Budyas, one must be of beauty, figure, wits and grace. In order to challenge the candidates, the Question and Answer portion is the most anticipated part of the show (for the judges at most).

With only one crown and one title as the Miss Budyas 2017, it was tricky to know who really deserves it. The audience had their own favorites, and opinions regarding the candidates. However, it is still up to the judges who to crown. The show was over all a very fluent with only few breaks and intermissions. It was a great job for the organizers to prepare such event.
